Pumpkins... way harder to carve then they once where

So when you are a child, carving pumpkins is the what you look forward to just as much as getting free candy. Now when you are little your parents the get top off, and get all the guts out and they help you carve the hard an intricate parts... Now for a sorority dance (shin dig, which is this Friday) I have been put in charge of the decorations and for the outside, and inside of the chio and all the tables and plates and forks and things, and center pieces and don't go over the budget... which is very small for this kind of job.... But no worries I rock and it will be amazing. So I decided to carve Chi Omega SHIN DIG (but Chi Omega in Greek letters of course) I asked my mom if we could start this amazing adventure her at my house and she replied with a "Hell NO, well maybe outside.. in the cold hahah" She wasn't joking. So Lauren and I went and bought 10 huge pumpkins and printed out letters, that was the easy part. We even bought electric carvers.. Maybe the coolest thing about this adventure haha, Really every house hold should own at lest one... We went to her house to carve, We made her brother Jake get the tops off, cause we didn't really know how, and started to get all the stuff out of them... Then we started asking , who is the genius that invented this tradition? Who honestly looks at a pumpkin and thinks, I'm going to get all the stuff out of it and carve something in it? Its super gross and hard to get all the guts out, it really takes for ever to make them clean enough to put candles in them, and well Lauren didn't really care so she'd get a lot out and start carving, and em and I would go and re clean them after she was done... :) and after I did two pumpkins my arm was tired, so was Lauren, and Em was still cleaning out her first pumpkin, I think it was her plan to not have to do that many. It looked like we'd need some help, We called Andy Jones, who we owe a lot to! After he came over I took on a way hard letter.. G... This was not my smartest idea haha. I  wasn't really being careful, I was very into singing NSYNC songs and Britney Spears... I ended up breaking the shape and so i just looked like a giant whole. Angry doesn't even begin to describe how pissed I was, luckily Lauren and I bought an extra one for this very purpose. And super lucky that Andy is like a professional at carving hard things in pumpkins and he did the D,and G and drew the X and the Omega and carved most of them, he saved the day. We ended this pumpkin mania at 1:30 AM!!! I honestly can say I would not like to carve pumpkins anytime soon.
Well bloggers I'm off to help Lauren cook most the food we are eating tomorrow at the dance.
XOXO
