First Annual Miss America Pageant

As the first week of school, no matter how old you are, is always very nervous and exciting.
But this week had the added excitement of this Miss America Pageant competition on Saturday.
As Julie and I decided that we were going to watch the pageant we got to talking...

When Julie and I get to talking we go off one idea and then we both play off each other and build on the main idea until we can't go any further. This could
be seen as a "problem"

I see this as the only way to live.

So after I hung up with her early in the day I immediately started baking the red velvet cake- in a star pan! As soon as I had that out of the oven I ran to the party store to get the rest of the supplies.
Who knew the party store was filled with more things that I had planned to get, but found absolutely necessary!

I got some tiaras, a super glittery fake microphone, red sashes- which I bought glitter glue so I could write the states on them. Trophies, champagne cups and Julie's got the ice cream and martinelli's.
Julie's came over to just in time to help me finish the sashes!

7:30 rolled around and the ladies started to roll in. Lacey, Vanessa, and Katherine came full dressed and ready to go. While Julie and I had to hurry and do our hair and make up.
As soon as we were ready we all put on our sashes and of course took so pictures!

Miss Delaware

Miss Iowa

Miss Hawaii

Miss Texas

Miss Maine

And some fun pics-

Then it was show time!

We watched the intro of all the lovely ladies and kind of did a fantasy football thing, but Miss America style. We all chose our top 15 and those are the girls we followed those girls we chose through the entire event.

We also stopped and did our own talents.

Julie was able to say the first 25 numbers of pi while standing on one foot... Oprah calls that multitasking!

Vanessa showed us her Cheerleading moves

Katherine showed us her four leaf clover

Lacey
moonwalked!

While I (with Julie joining in, thank heavens) showed the girls the first few counts of Hannah Montana's hoedown throwdown.

Then we watched the swimsuit portion of the event and critiqued every girl- super normal- except they all had amazing bodies... whatever!

Then we drew numbers to see the order of what question we would have to answer. We would listen to the question and then pause and answer it. This was so fun!

After all this we watched Miss Wisconsin take the crown- Which we all wanted Miss Oklahoma (runner up)

Miss America fantasy thing- I was the winner with the all time high of 9 girls out of 15!

And we ended our night with Sparkling Cider, Cake and Ice-Cream!

What a way fun event! Cant wait until next year!
